Afghan activists fled the Taliban—now they face deportation.

Afghan women’s rights activists, along with hundreds of thousands of other Afghans, are facing deportation from Pakistan. Many risk imprisonment or even death if forced to return to Taliban rule in Afghanistan. While Afghans have long sought refuge in Pakistan, the government insists they cannot stay indefinitely. With international resettlement programs shutting down and Pakistan speeding up deportations, the question remains—where can they go?
