Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an interview to Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun, stressed that India and China, as major economies, must work together to stabilize the world economy. He said stable, predictable, and amicable ties between the two nations would benefit regional and global peace, adding that cooperation is vital for a multipolar Asia and world. Modi’s remarks come ahead of his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the SCO summit in Tianjin. He also highlighted India-Japan cooperation for a free and open Indo-Pacific, aligning their visions amid China’s assertive regional behavior.
