Putin to Visit India in December, Confirms Kremlin Aide

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India in December for the annual summit, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed. Ahead of the visit, Putin will meet PM Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Tianjin, China, to discuss preparations. This will be their first in-person meeting of 2025, though they remain in regular contact. Ushakov highlighted the “special strategic partnership” between India and Russia, marking its 15th anniversary this year. Modi had visited Russia twice in 2024 for bilateral and BRICS summits. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has raised tariffs on Indian goods, targeting Russian oil imports.
