Sumud, Largest Flotilla Bound for Gaza, Set to Depart

Volunteers from around the world have gathered in Barcelona to join the Global Sumud Flotilla, the largest mission yet to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and challenge Israel’s blockade. Trained in nonviolent resistance, participants include activists, journalists, politicians, and families, united under a strict code of conduct. The flotilla of about 100 boats will sail from Spain to Tunisia, then converge with vessels from Italy and elsewhere before heading to Gaza. Organisers stress their mission is humanitarian, not heroic, as Palestinians face mass killings, famine, and siege.
