China’s Xi Calls for AI Cooperation, Denounces ‘Cold War Mentality’ at SCO Summit

At the SCO summit in Tianjin, Chinese President Xi Jinping urged member countries to strengthen artificial intelligence cooperation and rejected a “Cold War mentality.” Speaking before over 20 world leaders, including India’s PM Modi and Russia’s Putin, Xi highlighted China’s $84 billion investment in SCO nations and support for 10,000 students in vocational programs. He emphasized peaceful coexistence, multipolarity, and global governance through coordination rather than unilateral dominance. Leaders signed the Tianjin Declaration, approved a development plan through 2035, and agreed to launch the SCO Development Bank. Xi also proposed a “Global Governance Initiative” and stressed tackling new global challenges collectively.
