CM’s Vigilance Team Raids Residences of ACS Officers in Land Scam Probe
In a major crackdown, the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Team launched early morning raids on the residences of ACS officers Tanbir Yusuf Ahmed and his brother Masum Ahmed in connection with an alleged land scam.
The operation began at 5:00 AM at House No. 20, Jyoti Prasad Agarwala Road, Byelane No. 5, Bhetapara, Guwahati, as part of an investigation into the illegal accumulation of wealth. The Special Monitoring Cell of the CM’s Department is overseeing the probe, with cases 8/2025 and 9/2025 filed against the officers.
Tanbir Yusuf Ahmed, formerly the Revenue Circle Officer in Bajali, was transferred from Dalgaon, Darrang district, in December 2024. Reports suggest he strongly opposed this transfer due to his alleged financial gains from political connections and illegal dealings. Authorities suspect he amassed significant wealth during his tenure.
In a related development, the CM Vigilance Team also raided the residence of ACS officer Reetimoni Das, a close associate of Tanbir Yusuf Ahmed, in Japorigog, Guwahati. Although Das was not present at the time, she was later taken in for questioning, and officials are currently searching her rented house in Mangaldai.
The investigation is ongoing, with further details expected as authorities proceed with their inquiries.
