Bihar Govt Clears Path to Host International Cricket Matches

The Bihar government has approved transferring management of the new Rajgir International Cricket Stadium to the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), clearing the way for national and international matches. The Nitish Kumar Cabinet also sanctioned ₹574.34 crore for acquiring 101 acres in Punpun to build a major sports complex with advanced training facilities. Additionally, under the Bihar Exceptional Players Direct Recruitment Rules, 2023, 10 athletes will be recruited to government jobs. Built at ₹750 crore, the Rajgir stadium seats 40,000 and will be ready by year-end. The BCA welcomed the decision, calling it a boost to Bihar’s cricket and sports infrastructure.
