Dibrugarh’s Mayuri Das Becomes First Assamese to Receive Prestigious 'Ratnamani' Award
Mayuri Das, the Principal and founder of Mayuri Nritya Niketan, has created history by becoming the first person from Assam to receive the prestigious 'Ratnamani' Award. The honor was conferred upon her at a grand ceremony held at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata.
Renowned for her dedication to classical dance and Assamese culture, Das has played a pivotal role in promoting performing arts on a national platform. Her recognition marks a proud moment for Assam and the Northeast, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage. This achievement is expected to inspire aspiring artists to pursue their passion for classical dance.
Founded in 2003, Mayuri Nritya Niketan has been a hub for nurturing dance talent under Das’s leadership. The institute specializes in Bharatanatyam while incorporating various other dance forms, currently training 300 students.
