Morigaon Civil Hospital Faces Probe After 21 C-Section Deliveries in 10 Hours

At Morigaon Civil Hospital, an official probe has been launched after 21 lower-segment caesarean sections (LSCS) were performed within 10 hours in a single operating theatre by Dr. Kantheswar Bordoloi between September 5–6, 2025. The district administration, led by Additional DC (Health) Nitisha Bora, issued a show-cause notice demanding details on each case, patient preparation, sterilization protocols, emergency justifications, and staff roles. The inspection flagged lapses in pre- and post-operative record-keeping, raising patient safety concerns. Dr. Bordoloi must submit detailed explanations within three days to clarify whether the surgeries followed proper medical protocols or violated safety norms.
