The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved major infrastructure projects in Bihar ahead of upcoming elections. It cleared the four-laning of the 84.2-km Mokama-Munger section of the Buxar-Bhagalpur high-speed corridor, a key industrial area in the state. Additionally, the Cabinet approved the doubling of the 177-km Bhagalpur-Dumka-Rampurhat railway line, which connects Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, at an estimated cost of ₹3,169 crore. These projects aim to improve regional connectivity, enhance industrial growth, and boost transportation efficiency, reflecting the government’s focus on infrastructure development in poll-bound Bihar.
