Assam to Host ‘Tea Startup Summit’ Celebrating 200 Years of Assam Tea

Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota chaired a stakeholder consultation on the upcoming Tea Startup Summit, set for October 2025 to mark 200 years of Assam Tea. Themed “200 Years of Assam Tea – Startups Brewing the Future,” the summit will bring startups, industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers together to boost innovation, sustainability, and global branding. Discussions focused on strengthening traceability, value-added products, eco-friendly packaging, and consumer engagement. Plans include a Specialty Tea Sustainability Startup Challenge, workshops on industry challenges, and support for startups through finance and mentoring. The event aims to give Assam Tea a refreshed global identity.
