As Assam awaits the return of superstar Zubeen Garg’s body following his death in Singapore during the North East India Festival, the state government has decided to transfer the investigation to the CID. Complaints have been lodged against festival organizer Shyamkanu Mahanta and Zubeen’s manager Siddharth Sharma, prompting the move. Zubeen Garg, 52, was a renowned singer, songwriter, actor, filmmaker, and one of Assam’s most influential cultural icons. He passed away on Friday afternoon in Singapore, where he was serving as the Cultural Brand Ambassador for the festival, organized under the High Commission of India.
