Assam CM Directs CID Investigation into FIRs Related to Zubeen Garg’s Death

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that multiple FIRs related to the untimely death of singer Zubeen Garg will be consolidated and investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The FIRs, filed across various jurisdictions, name North East India Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta and Garg’s manager Sidharth Sarma. Garg reportedly suffered breathlessness and a seizure while swimming on a yacht in Singapore with some Assamese residents and his team. Despite receiving CPR and being taken to Singapore General Hospital, he was declared dead at around 2:50 pm IST on Friday.
