Government Promotes ‘Vocal for Local’ Through Buildathon 2025 for School Students

The Education Ministry has launched the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, inviting students from classes 6 to 12 to participate in a nationwide innovation event promoting “vocal for local” and related themes. Announced by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Buildathon includes school-level activities and a 120-minute national live event on October 13. Students, in teams of 5-7, will ideate, design, and develop prototypes on four themes: Vocal for Local, Swadeshi, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and Samriddh Bharat. A dedicated portal will provide learning resources, videos, and toolkits, while mentors from incubation centres, higher education institutions, and corporates will guide students in project development.
