Assam Begins Vote Counting for BTC Elections Across 40 Constituencies

The vote counting for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections began at 8 am, determining the fate of 316 candidates across 40 constituencies in five districts. Kokrajhar leads with 100 candidates in 12 constituencies, followed by Udalguri with 68 in 10, Chirang with 56 in 7, Baksa with 52 in 6, and Tamulpur with 40 in 5. A strong room in Kokrajhar Sadar is designated for counting six constituencies. Security forces are deployed to ensure smooth and peaceful counting. The results will play a crucial role in shaping the political landscape and governance of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
