The CDC removed over a dozen webpages related to sexual and gender identity, health equity, and other topics following a directive from the Health and Human Services Department. Pages included content on sexually transmitted infections in gay men, disability health equity, and asexuality and bisexuality. Advocates warn the removal could harm marginalized groups by limiting access to critical health information. The directive aligns with long-targeted topics under Trump-era policies limiting transgender and nonbinary rights. Legal rulings have previously required restoration of such pages. As of Sept. 19, most pages were restored, but some CDC pages remain under review.
