Meghalaya: KSU Questions MBBS Selection List Citing Non-Tribal Inclusions

The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has strongly objected to Meghalaya’s MBBS selection list after two non-tribal candidates, Diya Ghosh (472 marks) and Tanushka Chakravarty (442 marks), secured seats under the unreserved category despite several Khasi students scoring higher in NEET. KSU argues this inclusion sidelines deserving indigenous candidates and demands that additional Khasi applicants from the waiting list be moved up under the Khasi-Jaintia quota. General Secretary Donald V Thabah criticized the process as biased, alleging government negligence or undue influence, and called for the removal of the two non-tribal names, warning of protests if corrective action is not taken.
