The Vaishno Devi Yatra has been suspended for three days, from October 5 to 7, due to forecasts of heavy rainfall in parts of Jammu division and south Kashmir. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board announced the suspension on Saturday, citing the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) prediction of “very heavy rains” in the region during this period. The pilgrimage, which attracts thousands of devotees to the Trikuta Hills near Katra town, has been temporarily halted to ensure the safety of visitors amid expected adverse weather conditions. Devotees are advised to plan their visit accordingly.
