Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on October 6 that the Assam-Asean One Skill and Language Institute, aimed at providing Japanese language training to the state’s youth, has become operational. The announcement followed his meeting with Toshiaki Nishikawa, Chairman of Asean One, in Guwahati, where Sarma praised the swift execution of the project, completed within five months. The institute will offer dedicated Japanese language courses to prepare skilled professionals for overseas employment, especially in Japan, while fostering cultural and educational ties. It serves as a bridge for Assamese youth to access global opportunities and Japanese work culture.
