Meghalaya Chief Minister and NPP president Conrad Sangma arrived in Imphal for a two-day visit to assess Manipur’s current situation and promote lasting peace. He plans to meet local leaders, community representatives, and stakeholders, including Meitei and Naga civil society organisations, as well as internally displaced persons. Sangma emphasized restoring peace and normalcy as the top priority, ahead of political expansion. The visit includes discussions with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and NPP party members on stabilisation and election strategies. On October 10, he will engage with Kuki CSOs and IDPs in Kangpokpi before departing for Dimapur.
