Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two major agricultural initiatives — the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses — on October 11 in New Delhi, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan, announced Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Modi will also interact with beneficiaries of central schemes and felicitate members of Farmers Producer Organisations (FPOs). Both schemes, announced in the Union Budget 2025-26 and recently approved by the Cabinet, are set to be implemented from the upcoming rabi (winter) season through 2030-31, aiming to strengthen agricultural self-reliance.
