Piyush Goyal: India’s Exports Grow 4–5% Over Past Six Months

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated that India’s exports grew 4–5% over the last six months of the financial year, despite global challenges, highlighting the country’s resilience. He noted that global trade growth fell below 1% according to World Bank data. Emphasizing technology and digital empowerment, Goyal highlighted India’s billion-plus internet users and the trust factor as a key strength. He cited renewable energy leadership, with 24-hour power under 9 cents/kWh for data centres and AI applications. He also noted UPI’s global expansion, now used in nine countries, reflecting India’s digital success and economic strength.
