The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has announced a statewide agitation demanding justice for late singer Zubeen Garg. The three-phase program includes a sit-in on October 14, a candlelight vigil on October 19, and a symbolic “Nyay Samdal” (Justice March) on October 23 across Assam. AASU calls for a swift, transparent, and thorough investigation, exemplary punishment for guilty individuals, and a comprehensive chargesheet. Criticizing lapses in the ongoing probe and administrative inefficiency, the union stressed accountability for those obstructing justice. AASU also affirmed Zubeen’s assets should go to his wife, Garima Saikia Garg, and family.
