Aloke Kumar Chakraborty has assumed charge as Inspector General of the Tripura Frontier, BSF, succeeding A.K. Sharma, who was transferred to Manipur. A highly decorated officer, he has received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, the UNMIK Medal, and the Ati Utkrisht Sewa Padak. Chakraborty brings extensive operational and administrative experience from postings along the Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Pakistan borders, Line of Control, and anti-Naxal operations. He has also served in instructional roles at BSF Academy, Gwalior, and Central School of Weapons and Tactics, Indore, as well as deputations with the Special Protection Group and UNMIK, enhancing border management and operational efficiency.
