A month since the death of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore, police confirmed no foul play is suspected. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) is conducting investigations under the Coroners Act 2010, and conclusions are to be presented to the State Coroner, who may direct a Coroner's Inquiry. The probe, which could last another three months, is still going on, and SPF has already given initial results to India's High Commission on October 1. Garg, 52, was drowned on September 19 in Singapore where he had gone for the North East India Festival. The festival organizer and his manager have been arrested. Assam is going to conduct a fast-track trial with a special public prosecutor.
