The Nagaon police have identified Imdadul Islam, a resident of Burhagaon in Morigaon district, as the prime suspect in the attack on Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi's convoy in Dhing. Islam, who was suspended from the Congress party just before the attack, allegedly orchestrated the assault. Police are conducting a manhunt across Morigaon and Nagaon to apprehend other suspects. Bordoloi, returning from a meeting, was attacked by assailants from Lahorighat. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pijush Hazarika linked the attack to personal disputes over financial matters, denying any BJP involvement, while Bordoloi accused BJP supporters of orchestrating it.
