Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged Bihu and Puja committees to strengthen the education system by conducting special evening classes for HSLC students. He proposed that committees hold classes from 6 pm to 9 pm, targeting government school students. Sarma announced that committees would be eligible for government grants only if they commit to running these classes for three months annually. He also revealed a new scheme to support this initiative. Addressing concerns over declining HSLC pass percentages, Sarma linked it to the shift towards concept-based learning and outlined plans to revamp 4,000 schools.
