Northeast Frontier Railway Installs 135 AI Cameras and Panic Buttons at Guwahati Station for Enhanced Security

Guwahati railway station has received a major security boost with the installation of 135 AI-powered CCTV cameras and 20 panic buttons by Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway). The system features facial recognition, intrusion detection, and real-time alerts for tampering, all monitored 24/7 by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). A new Escort Mobilisation Hall has been launched to improve emergency response. NF Railway plans to expand the technology to other stations like Haiborgaon. Over 1,000 surveillance cameras are now active across 50 key stations, and additional safety measures are being implemented at level crossings through camera installations and structural upgrades.
