The Assam Cabinet has approved investment proposals worth ₹7,730 crore based on MoUs signed during the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit held in February. These investments aim to transform Assam into a major industrial hub in the Northeast by boosting sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, agro-processing, and tourism, while generating significant employment opportunities. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also announced plans to establish a Japanese Language Centre in the state to train skilled professionals for short-term jobs in Japan. This initiative follows his meeting with an ASEAN ONE delegation and aligns with Assam’s broader strategy to strengthen ties with Japan.
