The second phase of Assam Panchayat elections began today at 7:30 AM, with voters lining up peacefully at polling stations like Lokhi Ganj Model HS School. A total of 1,465 polling stations were set up across Dhubri Sadar, CDC Golakganj, and CDC Bilasipara to serve 10,52,452 registered voters. The voter demographic includes 542,630 male, 509,807 female, and 15 transgender voters. Authorities reported smooth voting under tight security arrangements. A high voter turnout is expected due to the significance of Panchayat elections. Voting will continue until evening, followed by ballot box transportation for counting and result declaration.
