IndiaAI Mission, Gates Foundation to sign MoU on AI in agriculture, healthcare: Vaishnaw

The Union government’s IndiaAI Mission is set to sign an MoU with the Gates Foundation to collaborate on AI-driven solutions for improved agriculture, enhanced healthcare, smarter education, and climate resilience, Minister of Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on X on March 19, 2025.

The IndiaAI Mission is dedicated to advancing AI development, research, and adoption across India. Recently, it has started providing computing infrastructure, including a shared pool of graphics cards, to support local startups and researchers requiring substantial digital processing power.

Mr. Gates recently reflected on his meetings with farmers in Odisha, noting that they were using AI-powered tools to predict weather patterns, select crops, and mitigate disease risks. He expressed excitement about seeing the advancements these tools have made in a short time.
