Assam's Bibhuti Lahkar Receives Mark Shand Conservation Award from King Charles and Queen Camilla

A charity gala titled “Wonders of the Wild” was held at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, attended by King Charles and Queen Camilla to support wildlife conservation through the Elephant Family, founded by Camilla’s late brother Mark Shand. A major highlight was Queen Camilla presenting the Mark Shand Award to Dr. Bibhuti Prasad Lahkar of Assam’s NGO Aaranyak for his significant contributions to Asian elephant conservation, especially in Manas National Park. The event featured celebrities, conservation leaders, and ended with the Big Egg Hunt fundraiser. King Charles stressed collaboration, while Assam’s grassroots efforts were spotlighted through Aaranyak and Balipara Foundation.
