Assam Drop Teachers Association stages another protest over job regularization, leading to detentions.

On Thursday, members of the All Assam Drop Teachers Association (2013/2021) staged a protest in Guwahati, demanding the regularization of their jobs. The protesters, initially gathered outside the Sarva Shiksha office in Kahilipara, later marched to Janata Bhawan to continue their push for the long-standing demands.

Claiming government indifference, the protesting teachers demanded immediate action to secure their jobs. "We’ve been struggling with this issue for a long time. Why are we being made to endure this when we have already completed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.ED)? I urge the government to verify our documents," said one protester, who wished to remain anonymous.
