On May 13, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the 2025 Panchayat election results reflect strong public support for the NDA government, calling it a sign of “pro-incumbency.” He highlighted the NDA’s significant gains since 2018, winning 300 of 397 Zila Parishad and 1,436 of 2,192 Anchalik Panchayat seats. Sarma credited PM Modi and other senior BJP leaders for the success and said the victory is a clear mandate for their welfare-driven governance. He pledged to continue working for a stronger Assam ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, viewing the results as public trust in the NDA’s leadership.
