Hyderabad Metro Hikes Fare for the First Time Since 2017: New Rates Effective Tomorrow

L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited (LTMRHL), which operates Hyderabad Metro, announced a fare hike effective from May 17, marking the first increase since the metro began in November 2017. The fare increase ranges from Rs 2 on the minimum fare of Rs 10 to Rs 15 on the maximum fare of Rs 60. A Fare Fixation Committee, led by a former High Court judge, was formed in September 2022 to review fares and submitted its recommendations in January 2023. However, the fare revision was delayed due to various reasons before finally being implemented this May.
