South Korea’s clean energy firm Bio Friends Inc., in partnership with Assam Petro-Chemicals Ltd., is setting up a $30 million dimethyl ether (DME) plant in Namrup, Assam. The plant’s first phase will have a 40,000-ton annual capacity, promoting clean fuel and reducing carbon emissions. DME, a renewable LPG and diesel alternative, aligns with India’s green energy goals. This Indo-Korean project includes economic feasibility studies and technology transfer, boosting Assam’s economy through jobs and infrastructure development. The initiative aims to make Assam a hub for clean fuel and industrial growth, enhancing environmental quality and social development.
