Sikkim Launches Online Payment System for Tourism Sector on Statehood Day

The Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim, launched an Online Payment System for tourism-related businesses during the state’s 50th Statehood Day celebrations at Manan Bhawan, Gangtok. Inaugurated by Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, the platform streamlines payments for hotels, homestays, travel agencies, and other tourism entities. It covers registration, renewals, upgrades, leases, and arrears through a single digital interface on the department’s website. Led by Principal Director Binod Sharma, the initiative reduces paperwork, speeds approvals, and enhances accountability, supporting Sikkim’s push towards e-governance and tourism sector modernization.
