Amingaon’s New International Cricket Stadium Nears Completion, Inauguration Set for February 2026

The construction of a modern international cricket stadium at Amingaon, Guwahati is progressing rapidly and expected to complete by December 2025. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inspected the site and confirmed its official inauguration in February 2026. The stadium will host all three formats of international cricket and accommodate major cultural events. To ease traffic during events, the government is enhancing infrastructure around the venue. This development aligns with Assam’s efforts to boost sports facilities ahead of the National Games. Additionally, reconstruction of Nehru Stadium and a new bridge in North Guwahati will improve the city's sports and connectivity infrastructure.
