Sarma and Scindia Chart 5-Point Plan to Boost Muga Silk, Rural Tourism, and Connectivity

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia held a high-level review meeting with DoNER officials, outlining a five-point strategy to accelerate Assam's growth. The plan focuses on boosting Muga silk production, expanding palm oil and agarwood cultivation, promoting tourism, developing border villages as economic hubs, and improving logistics through better infrastructure and connectivity. Aligned with PM Modi’s “Ashtalakshmi” vision for Northeast India, the meeting also emphasized enhancing supply chains and attracting investment. Both Sarma and Scindia expressed optimism on social media, highlighting Assam’s pivotal role in the region’s development roadmap and future policy planning.
