Siri Upgrades Expected to Take Backseat at Apple’s WWDC 2025

Apple will host WWDC 2025 from June 9–13, unveiling major updates to iOS 19, iPadOS, and macOS with a major visual redesign. However, significant Siri upgrades are unlikely to be a key focus, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Despite earlier AI promises, Apple has faced delays in Siri’s development due to internal hesitancy in prioritizing AI. Software chief Craig Federighi and others reportedly viewed early AI investments as distracting from core products. Although Apple is developing an AI-powered “LLM Siri,” it may not be branded under “Apple Intelligence” to manage expectations due to Siri’s current weak reputation.
