Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra Survives No-Confidence Vote, Thanks Supporters

Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has successfully survived a no-confidence vote in parliament, solidifying her position as the country’s leader. The motion, brought forward by opposition lawmakers, accused Paetongtarn of being influenced by her father, Thaksin Shinawatra, a former prime minister and influential political figure.

After the motion was defeated, Paetongtarn expressed gratitude to her supporters and coalition partners for their trust and confidence. "I am deeply thankful to everyone who stood by me. This vote reaffirms our commitment to work together for the country’s progress," she said in a brief statement.

The opposition had claimed that Paetongtarn’s leadership was compromised by her close ties to Thaksin, raising concerns about political interference. However, government lawmakers overwhelmingly rejected the motion, allowing her administration to continue its term.

The vote result strengthens Paetongtarn's mandate as she moves forward with her policy agenda, while critics vow to keep pressing for greater transparency and independence in her leadership.
