In an interview, he emphasized India's right to respond to terrorism, citing Operation Sindoor following the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26. Over 100 terrorists were killed in India's retaliation. Jaishankar clarified that while the operation continues in principle, active fighting has ceased. He dismissed former US President Trump's mediation claims, asserting the ceasefire was negotiated solely between India and Pakistan.
