Haibargaon Railway Station in Assam’s Nagaon district was inaugurated by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya after a nationwide virtual launch by Prime Minister Modi. It is the first of 50 Assam stations redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), with an investment of Rs 15.85 crore. The upgraded station offers modern amenities, better accessibility, and improved infrastructure to enhance travel experience. As one of 103 stations nationwide revamped in this phase, Haibargaon’s redevelopment emphasizes regional connectivity and development in Northeast India. The design incorporates local cultural elements, reflecting the state’s identity and supporting broader rail modernization efforts.
