Assam is intensifying preparations for the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) with state-wide and global outreach, confirmed in a virtual meeting led by Health Minister Ashok Singhal. Emphasizing yoga as a year-round practice, the minister urged inclusive public participation. The main event will be held in Salbari, Baksa, with activities across all 35 districts. National initiatives like Yoga Sangama, Yoga Maha Kumbh, and Harit Yoga will be locally adapted. Programs include competitions, awareness drives, and themed activities. A state-wide yoga contest and collaboration with schools, colleges, and local bodies aim to make IDY a mass movement promoting health and sustainability.
