BJP to Launch Panchayat Leadership Selection from June 20, Sets Stage for 2026 Polls

Buoyed by its recent panchayat poll success, the BJP will begin selecting grassroots leadership from June 20, with appointments for Panchayat, Anchalik Parishad, and Zilla Parishad positions to be completed by July 30. At a key executive meeting in Jorhat, state BJP chief Dilip Saikia and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma outlined 2026 poll strategies. Sarma praised party workers but warned against arrogance. He accused Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi of secret visits to Pakistan for “anti-national activities.” The meeting, attended by top leaders, concluded with plans for grassroots outreach, including a massive Tiranga Rally on May 25 under PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ vision.
