Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has floated the tender for the much-awaited Jorhat–Majuli Bridge. The 6.81-kilometre, two-lane bridge, costing ₹600.51 crore, aims to provide a permanent, all-weather road link between Jorhat and Majuli, reducing reliance on ferries and improving travel safety and convenience. Sharing the news on social media, the CM thanked Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for the support. The project, previously delayed due to cost hikes and technical revisions, is now progressing with this new tender, marking a major step in enhancing Assam’s intra-state connectivity.
