Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on May 23 to seek support for accelerating key development projects, including the Brownfield Ammonia Urea Complex in Namrup and strengthening medical education with new nursing colleges. He also requested assistance to maximize benefits for Assam under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). Earlier, Sarma briefed Union Home Minister Amit Shah on state issues, highlighting the NDA’s recent panchayat election victory and progress in eliminating ‘Red Terror.’ The meetings underscored Assam’s development priorities and security improvements.
