Tata’s Assam semiconductor plant races ahead of Gujarat: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Tata Group’s semiconductor project in Jagiroad, Assam, is progressing much faster than the one in Gujarat. He highlighted that Assam is significantly ahead in project execution, scoring at least 50% more than Gujarat. The Jagiroad facility, involved in Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP) of semiconductors, is part of Tata’s strategic investment in India’s electronics manufacturing. The advanced stage of Assam’s plant, expected to start chip production next year, marks a major milestone in the state’s industrial development.
