Ex-Manipur CM Raises Alarm Over Crisis in Meeting with Governor

Former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh met Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on May 27 to discuss the state's ongoing crisis. Singh highlighted issues such as the suffering of internally displaced people and road blockades due to prolonged highway closures. He urged for the disarmament of miscreants to restore peace. Singh appreciated the Home Ministry’s recent move to identify illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar within 30 days. He also submitted a memorandum detailing the Manipur government’s efforts in addressing the migrant issue and other challenges. The Governor is expected to take appropriate steps, including engaging with protestors.
