In a prestigious ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Droupadi Murmu awarded the Padma Bhushan to Nityacharya Jatin Goswami for his significant contributions to Sattriya dance preservation and promotion. Rewakanth Mahanta, renowned for mask-making and Mukha Bhaona, received the Padma Shri for his mastery and global recognition of this art form. Geeta Upadhyaya, a celebrated writer, translator, and educator, was also honoured with the Padma Shri for her literary and educational contributions, including translating key works and fostering cultural connections. All three have been pivotal in enriching Assam’s art, literature, and cultural heritage.
